She discovered Feldenkrais® the hard way. 

Skiing took a toll on her body and a back injury left her in chronic, debilitating pain. When traditional physical therapy didn’t work, she sought out the Feldenkrais Method®. Seeing its potential to get her life back, and ultimately to help others do the same, she fully immersed herself and immediately began the 4-year Feldenkrais professional teacher training program. Soon she was teaching Feldenkrais at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), giving presentations at health conferences, corporate wellness programs, health clubs, senior centers, career training programs and for a variety of other organizations. 

In 1994, Shari founded Movement Options. Her studio combines her love of physical activity, adventure travel and outdoor recreation with her passion for teaching Feldenkrais and her joy in seeing others improve. Delighted by her own improvements through Feldenkrais she has also reclaimed her active lifestyle to become a wilderness guide and naturalist, leading sea kayaking, hiking, rafting and canoeing trips in remote National Parks and Wildlife Refuges throughout Alaska and among the islands, mountains and fjords of Norway.

Today, Shari offers diverse Feldenkrais programs including local and on-line group movement classes, personally relevant individual sessions online or in person, and eco-adventure retreats throughout the world that combine the freedom of movement with the freedom, beauty and healing power of the great outdoors.
